Future of databases
Stefan Kleineikenscheidt wrote a short entry on his thoughts/wishes for databases in 2009. This is part the future according to him:
Non-relational databases will become more popular this year. Examples include document oriented data stores or as graphs databases.
It seems quite clear that developers want alternatives to tradtitional RDBMS, either as a replacement or a complement.
